Demystifying Posterior Composites
Every single dentist wants to create that perfect posterior direct composite restoration. However, despite following the protocols and taking their time, the minute they remove the rubber dam, they realise that the occlusion is out and embark on adjusting the composite until it looks as though it was done in haste.
These restorations are left as they are because they are at the back of the mouth leaving only a hand full of dentists who post about the pride they feel when constructing beautiful and most importantly functional posterior restorations.
Dr Vishaal Shah (Vish) has spent the last 10 years learning and refining his techniques. He has attended almost every composite course there is out there and found that every course he attended seemed to be missing something. BUT he picked up a little nugget every time he attended.
After more than a year of planning and preparation Vish has brought together everything he has learnt in the form of a two day INTENSIVE hands on course where he promises to demystify the intricacies of posterior composites and enable you to produce restorations like you aspire to produce.
THIS IS THE POSTERIOR COMPOSITE MASTERCLASS!!
Who is this Course for?
Anyone who wants to “Level Up” their posterior composites beyond what they imagined they were capable of.
Vish says:

“Posterior composites are actually quite simple to produce if you know how. This course will be a game changer because I will ensure you put what you have learnt into practice immediately. I don’t want large groups of people, my groups will be limited to a maximum of 10 delegates at a time so that I have the time to ensure that everyone gets the best support.”
The 5 P’s
(Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance)
Most dentists, especially those who are early on in their career, have the knowledge but lack the confidence of planning full mouth cases. Historically, patients seem to drive treatment need and a conformative approach is often what we get reeled into where several other factors in the mouth are ignored through one of two things;
-
Lack of experience on the part of the dentist
-
Lack of finances, knowledge (or both) from the patient’s perspective.
Coupled with the level of the experience we have had, the knowledge and understanding we have and the confidence we have not only in delivering treatment but also the manner in which the patient is managed it can often be very easy to spiral down the rabbit hole eventually ending up in a situation which we would find it hard to get out of and worse still explaining to a regulator in case we receive a complaint.
Experience is a great teacher but Vishaal Shah has had his fair share of “what the hell was I thinking back then?” moments himself and has made the very mistakes that you may be afraid of making or may not know you are making.
Preparation is key and to be prepared, you need:
-
Full set of records (Including Photos)
-
A detailed log of the conversations you have had with the patients
-
A detailed record of the explanation of what is going on in that patient’ mouth and why it is happening
-
A comprehensive range of options to treat the patient in an ideal scenario
-
A detailed breakdown of the costs
This course is a one of a kind course where Dr Vishaal Shah will go through numerous scenarios he has come across in his career, how he has managed them and guided his patients with their consent on a journey too rehabilitating their mouths comprehensively from an aesthetic and most importantly functional standpoint.
Who is this Course for?
Any Dentist who wants to “Level Up” their Record taking, Photography, Treatment Planning and Patient Management Skills beyond the level they are currently at.
Vish says:
“Time needs to be taken to accumulate all the information you can get in order to be to able to assess and treatment plan a case. Without the necessary information, you cannot plan and without a plan, you can put yourself in danger for failure of your dentistry which will potentially come with its own potential challenges. You need to take a step back and assess why rather than what before you say anything about how you are going to treat a patient.”
